Elon Musk tells Tesla employees don’t be ‘bothered by stock market craziness’

After Tesla shares tumbled by more than 10% on Tuesday, following a year-long downward slide, CEO Elon Musk told employees not to be "too bothered by stock market craziness."

Last week, Musk circulated a companywide email to all Tesla employees and stated that in order for our company to continue reaching the levels of success that it has thus far, we need to "demonstrate continued excellent performance." He also mentioned that long-term, he believes Tesla will be the most valuable car manufacturer.

Tesla shares dropped drastically in December 2022. Shares are down as of this date, but it has been the worst month, quarter and year for Tesla to date.

Elon Musk has taken over the company’s Twitter to keep up with demand, which he claims was a cause of Tesla's declining share price. However, it is thought that his takeover of the social media site was worse for Tesla than rising interest rates.

In his email, Musk conveyed his enthusiasm for Tesla as he thanked its employees and encouraged them to be one step ahead of the fourth quarter. He also asked to deliver cars to customers before midnight in order to have a successful close this year.

In the last days of most quarters, Tesla employees from all over the company are called upon to help with deliveries in order to either meet or exceed stated delivery goals. In normal times, this work is usually limited to sales and delivery teams.

With the company aiming for 50% year-over-year growth in vehicles sold, they have cautioned investors that this may not be possible every year.

Musk has been focusing his attention on Twitter lately. He sold tens of billions of dollars worth of Tesla shares in 2022 so he could finance the buyout with the social media company.

Subj. Final Few Days

Date: Dec. 28, 2022 [Time Stamp removed]

Just a quick note to thank you for your hard work and congratulate you on exceptional execution in 2022!

Since we have a lot of cars arriving at the last minute, it is important to rally hard and do everything we can to get our cars to customers who have ordered them before midnight on Dec. 31. Also, every incremental car we produce that can be delivered in time also matters.

Please go all out for the next few days and volunteer to help deliver if at all possible. It will make a real difference!

Thanks,

Elon

Btw, don’t be too bothered by stock market craziness. As we demonstrate continued excellent performance, the market will recognize that. Long-term, I believe very much that Tesla will be the most valuable company on Earth!
