Four people seriously injured in a car accident in Co. Kildare

A horrific traffic incident in Kildare has left two individuals critically injured and two others seriously injured.

The Sallins by-pass remained blocked on Sunday morning following the incident, which occurred at about 11.15 p.m.

The accident involved two vehicles.





Two men (in their mid-40s and mid-70s) in the first car were rushed to Dublin's Mater Hospital, where they are now in critical condition.

The second car had a guy and a female in their late twenties.

They were rushed from the scene to Tallaght University Hospital, where they are said to be in severe but stable condition, according to Gardaí.

The road is currently closed, and local diversions are in place, stated a spokeswoman. At the moment, Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are inspecting the site.

Gardai are urging anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward. They are also requesting that anyone who was travelling on the Sallins By-Pass between 11 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. and has video footage (including dash cam) make it accessible to them.
