Gardaí investigating after a car crashed into a shopfront in Carlow
A serious fire overnight on Tullow Street in Carlow after a car went on fire after entering shop – Social media

Gardaí are investigating a car accident that occurred early on Monday morning at a business location in Carlow town.

Around 2:30 in the morning, something happened on Lower Tullow Street.

Before the fire started, a car was reversed into the front of the building.





As emergency personnel arrived on the site, people living in the flats above were evacuated.

Later on, the fire was contained, and no casualties were recorded.

To evaluate the scene, the area between Doyle's Corner and the Potato Market has been closed off to traffic.

A statement from the Gardaí stated that "significant damage was caused to the property" and confirmed that investigators are looking into the situation.
