Man(40s) dies in Cork after being hit by a car

Around 1.30 am on Sunday,  a pedestrian was hit fatally by a car on the N25 Eastbound at Water-Rock in Midleton, County Cork.

The incident is still being investigated by Gardaí.

The man in his 40s who was walking by was declared deceased on the spot. There were no additional recorded significant injuries.

Forensic collision investigators have been called in, and the road is currently closed. There are local detours available.

Any witnesses to this collision are being urged to come forward by the Gardaí.

Road users are urged to provide any camera footage (including dash cam footage) they may have while travelling east on the N25 between 1.15 and 1.30 in the morning.
