Man(60s) dies in a single-vehicle collision in Dundrum, Dublin

The third road death in the Republic in less than 24 hours was caused by a collision that claimed the life of a man in his 60s in Dublin.

At approximately 6.15 a.m. on Sunday, Gardaí were alerted to a single-vehicle collision on Churchtown Road Upper in Dundrum involving a van.

At the scene, the van's driver was declared deceased.





The road has been reopened after being checked by forensic experts.

Additionally, witnesses to two other crashes that happened overnight are being sought after by the Gardaí.

A man in his 20s died after the motorbike he was driving crashed in Carnew, Co Wicklow, at about 6.30 pm on Saturday.

A pedestrian in his 40s died on Sunday at around 1.30 am after being struck by a car on the N25 near Midleton when he was in Cork.

The total number of fatalities on our roads this year is now 61, up 18 from the same period last year.
